This voluntary program to reduce peak electric load uses high-tech programmable thermostats for central air-conditioning systems. Participation can help your business manage energy use better, and can help ensure a safe, reliable power supply. Thermostats can be programmed manually or remotely via the Internet to ensure indoor comfort and save energy. When it is necessary to reduce the demand for energy, Con Edison can adjust thermostat temperatures by cycling the air conditioner compressors off and on. Businesses can override these adjustments, if necessary. Businesses with a dedicated central air-conditioning system and an energy demand of up to 100kW are eligible to enroll in Con Edison’s Central Air Conditioning Program. The thermostat and installation are free. To receive the free thermostat and a $50 gift, business customers can call 1-866-521-8600, or visit www.conEd.com/cool.Cutting Energy Costs
